NXI-4200/4201
NXI Relay Control Modules
Universal NXI relay modules with up to 24 channels, 8A switching current and 4000V AC isolation.
The NXI-4200 and NXI-4201 universal relay control modules provide flexible switching solutions with either 8 or 24 SPST channels. The NXI-4200-8 model is designed for switching loads of up to 8A at 250V AC or 5A at 30V DC, reaching a maximum switching power of 150W or 2000VA. In contrast, the NXI-4201-24 offers 24 channels with a load capacity of 0.5A at 120V AC or 1A at 24V DC. Both modules feature electrical isolation between the control and switching circuits, with a dielectric strength of 4000V AC between coil and contact. With a typical action time of 10ms, they enable fast and reliable switching operations in automated testing environments. Control is managed via a LAN interface using Modbus-RTU or SCPI protocols. Typical applications include circuit switching control, integrated test systems, and signal ON/OFF simulation.

NXI-4200 Series – Modular Universal Relay Control Modules for Automated Test Environments
The NXI-4200 Series was developed as a highly reliable switching solution for modern industrial test environments and is suitable for research, development, and quality assurance applications. The modules can be operated either in the NXI-F1000 chassis or as autonomous stand-alone units, providing high flexibility for centralized and decentralized test architectures.
A key advantage is the consistent galvanic isolation between the control and switching circuits, which reduces the risk of system damage and significantly improves operational safety.
This creates a robust platform for precise signal switching, safe AC/DC switching, and scalable automation in demanding test systems.
Key Benefits
Typical Applications
The NXI-4200 Series is ideal for automated test systems and switching tasks where operational safety, signal integrity, and flexible system integration are essential.
Scalable signal distribution to increase test throughput in modular ATE environments.
Realistic simulation of switching processes for development, validation, and testing procedures.
Central monitoring and control of switching paths in complex test benches and system architectures.
Safe switching between different voltage and current sources, including more demanding power applications.
Flexible switching solution for manual and automated setups in research and development.
Robust signal switching for repeatable test cycles and stable testing processes in industrial environments.
Functional Concept and System Architecture
The technical foundation of the series is based on electromagnetic relays in SPST topology. The control level is consistently decoupled from the switching path to ensure safety and signal integrity, even in demanding test environments.

Variants and Configuration Options
The NXI-4200 Series is available in two main variants to cover different requirements in channel density, load capacity, and connection concept.
Optimized for higher loads with up to 8 A switching current and capacities of up to 150 W or 2000 VA per module.
The 8-channel variant uses a durable ATX connector for power-oriented switching applications.
Focused on maximum channel density with 24 channels for switching capacities up to 24 W or 60 VA at 1 A.
The 24-channel variant uses an MDR 50-pin connector for compact and structured signal cabling.
Integration and Automation
Software implementation is handled efficiently via Modbus-RTU or SCPI, ensuring a high level of interoperability with existing test and control systems.
Strategic Added Value
The NXI-4200 Series combines high operational safety, robust isolation technology, and modular scalability in a compact relay switching platform for modern testing and automation systems.
Thanks to its long service life, flexible integration into centralized or decentralized architectures, and maintenance-friendly platform design, downtime risks and total cost of ownership are reduced in industrial use.
