NXI-3106 series overview
The NXI-3106 series comprises single-channel programmable DC power supply modules rated at 60 W. Four models cover output voltages from 6 V to 60 V and currents from 1 A to 12 A. Each module operates as a regulated DC source in CV, CC and CP modes while providing voltage and current measurement readback.
With a width of only 4 HP, the modules are suited to compact multi-channel systems for development, automated testing and production. They can operate independently through their AC input and communication interfaces or be integrated into NXI-F1080, NXI-F1030 and NXI-F1020 measurement and control chassis. A chassis configuration can provide up to 16 independently controlled supply channels.
Key benefits
Compact module format
The narrow format reduces rack space in multi-channel test systems and can replace multiple individual bench instruments.
Matched output ranges
Models rated at 6 V, 15 V, 30 V or 60 V provide a suitable voltage and current range for the application.
Fine setting resolution
Voltage resolution is 0.1 mV or 1 mV depending on the model, while current resolution is 0.1 mA or 1 mA.
Fast load recovery
A recovery time below 2 ms supports repeatable testing when the connected load changes rapidly.
Flexible channel architecture
The system can be configured from one supply channel up to a centrally controlled arrangement with 16 channels.
Measurement recording
PC software records voltage and current values, stores historical data and supports subsequent data analysis.
Programmable DC power supply operating principle
The modules provide regulated DC power for electronic assemblies, sensors, controllers and other low-voltage devices under test. In CV mode, the programmed voltage is regulated while the output current is limited to the selected maximum value. In CC mode, the unit regulates current while the output voltage is limited by the programmed voltage setting.
CP mode adds programmable power regulation to the voltage and current operating modes. Selectable CC/CV priority allows the control response to be matched to the DUT. Voltage priority supports a smooth voltage ramp, while current priority is intended for low-impedance devices or applications requiring controlled inrush current.
NXI-3106 modules operate exclusively as DC sources. Electronic load or current-sink operation is not supported.
Models and technical specifications
All variants provide 60 W through one independently controlled output channel. The maximum available current is determined by the selected model voltage range.
| Model | Voltage range | Current range | Power | Voltage resolution | Current resolution |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| NXI-3106-6/12 | 0–6 V | 0–12 A | 60 W | 0.1 mV | 1 mA |
| NXI-3106-15/4 | 0–15 V | 0–4 A | 60 W | 1 mV | 0.1 mA |
| NXI-3106-30/2 | 0–30 V | 0–2 A | 60 W | 1 mV | 0.1 mA |
| NXI-3106-60/1 | 0–60 V | 0–1 A | 60 W | 1 mV | 0.1 mA |
| Model | Voltage accuracy at 23 ±5 °C | Current accuracy at 23 ±5 °C | Power accuracy |
|---|---|---|---|
| NXI-3106-6/12 | 0.05% + 3 mV | 0.1% + 12 mA | 0.1% + 0.1% of full scale |
| NXI-3106-15/4 | 0.05% + 8 mV | 0.1% + 4 mA | 0.1% + 0.1% of full scale |

| NXI-3106-60/1 | 0.05% + 30 mV | 0.1% + 1 mA | 0.1% + 0.1% of full scale |
The stated voltage and current accuracies apply to both setting and measurement readback at 23 ±5 °C.
Dynamics and control response
The NXI-3106-6/12 and NXI-3106-15/4 models achieve rise and fall times of no more than 20 ms at no load and full load. For the NXI-3106-30/2 and NXI-3106-60/1, rise time is no more than 30 ms. Fall time is no more than 30 ms at full load and 40 ms at no load.
Following a load change from 10% to 90%, the output voltage returns to within 0.5% of rated voltage in less than 2 ms. This value describes transient recovery after a load step and should not be confused with a programmable slew rate.

A system configuration supports up to 16 channels. Each output remains independently programmable and measurable, allowing several DUTs, supply rails or assembly sections to be powered within one centrally managed test system.
Parallel or series connection of outputs to increase current, voltage or power is not specified as a standard product function. Scaling is achieved by adding independently controlled channels.
