N62400
Low Volt High Current DC Load
Low-voltage high-current DC load for fuel cell and high-current applications.
The N62400 series is a low voltage high current programmable DC electronic load offering up to 40 V voltage range, 6 kW power, and high current capability for demanding test environments. A key advantage is its low minimum operating voltage, allowing the unit to draw full current already at 0.2 V (e.g. N62406-40-1200: 1200 A @ 0.2 V). This makes the model ideal for fuel cell testing, low-voltage power rails, DC-DC converters, and high-current power supply validation, where maximum current at very low voltage is required. Operating modes such as CC, CV, CR, and CP, together with dynamic and charge/discharge testing, enable realistic load simulation. Its compact 3U rack design and LAN, RS232, and CAN interfaces allow seamless integration into automated test systems.

N62400 Series: Programmable DC Load for High-Current Low-Voltage Applications
In industrial testing of low-voltage components such as fuel cells, precise load simulation at decreasing voltage levels is a key technological challenge. The N62400 series was developed specifically to absorb extremely high currents at very low voltages in a stable and repeatable manner.
With currents of up to 1200 A at voltages starting from 0.2 V, the system enables complete characterization of single cells and other high-current devices under test across the entire relevant operating range. The combination of robust hardware architecture, high readback accuracy, and efficient automation makes this series a powerful solution for research, development, and industrial quality assurance.
Key Advantages and User Benefits
The N62400 series combines high power density with control technology specifically designed for low-voltage, high-current testing.
Typical Applications
The N62400 series is used wherever high currents at very low voltages must be absorbed precisely and repeatably.
Analysis of single cells and stacks that provide very low voltages but must be loaded with high currents.
Standards-compliant charge and discharge cycles as well as precise determination of the internal resistance of energy storage systems.
Testing of DC/DC converters, busbars, and high-current connectors, especially in the field of e-mobility.
Functionality and System Description
The N62400 series operates as a fully programmable DC load and offers the four classic basic operating modes for static and dynamic test tasks.
