N36200 series overview
The N36200 is a single-channel programmable wide-range DC power supply for controlled powering, development and test applications. The series covers ratings from 500 W to 10 kW, output voltages up to 1,500 V and output currents up to 1,100 A. Available variants include low-voltage high-current configurations as well as models rated for 360 V, 750 V or 1,500 V.
The instruments support CV, CC and CP operation. Voltage programming and measurement accuracy is ≤0.03% + 0.02% of full scale, while current accuracy is ≤0.1% + 0.1% of full scale. Half-width and full-width 19-inch 1U housings, together with 10 kW models in 2U, support both benchtop use and integration into ATE, validation and production systems.
Key benefits
High power density
Up to 5 kW is available in a 1U housing, with ratings up to 2.5 kW offered in a half-width 19-inch format.
Broad model range
Voltage classes from 20 V to 1,500 V and currents up to 1,100 A enable application-specific instrument selection.
Accurate setpoint control
Voltage accuracy is ≤0.03% + 0.02% F.S.; current accuracy is specified as ≤0.1% + 0.1% F.S.
Fast control response
Many low-voltage variants provide rise times down to ≤10 ms, while the exact dynamic values depend on the selected model.
Remote sensing
Four-wire sensing regulates voltage at the DUT and compensates voltage drops across long or high-current connection leads.
Parallel power expansion
Instruments of the same model can be operated in a master-slave configuration with common control and readback.
Operating principle and output control
In standard V/I operation, the output voltage and current limit are programmed. Depending on the connected load and operating point, the instrument regulates in constant-voltage or constant-current mode. Constant-power operation is also available, dynamically adjusting voltage and current within configured upper limits.
Voltage priority
Prioritising the voltage control loop supports a fast, smooth voltage rise when powering sensitive low-voltage circuits.
Current priority
For low-impedance DUTs or charging tasks, current priority helps reduce output-current overshoot.
Selection note: The N36200 series contains different voltage, current and power classes. A model's maximum voltage and maximum current can only be combined within its available power characteristic.
Models and technical specifications
The portfolio includes low-voltage, high-current instruments as well as variants rated for 360 V, 750 V and 1,500 V. The series is available in the following model configurations.
